Ever wanted to learn to smoke?

By | October 8, 2012

Those who follow what we write here will know that we run The Intelligent Garden from Fletching Glasshouses which as well as being home to a couple of our other businesses is an organic market garden in it’s own right. We support a number of local farmers markets particularly the one in Lewes.

One of our fellow stall holders there is a nice man called David Stechler who runs the Lewes Smokehouse and he’ll shortly be running a DIY course in smoking food on 17th November  at another neighbour of ours the famous High Weald Dairy. Here are the details. If you’re interested contact David  as explained below. If you go let me know how you get on.

HOW TO SMOKE FOOD AT HOME

The next one day course on how to smoke food at home will be held on
Saturday 17th November at High Weald Dairy in Horsted Keynes.

The course will cover how to smoke at home, both hot and cold smoking, hygiene, equipment,
curing and of course, smoking. £120 for one day, including lunch.

By the end of the day you will be able to smoke food and take some product that
you have smoked, home with you.

You will also be able to purchase basic smoking equipment on the day
(very basic but will do the job and demonstrates the principles).

If you would like to attend please e-mail me and I’ll send you more detail
of where when and an outline of what we will cover. Payment will be
required, in advance
